High Dynamic Temple

After reading through books and books, study about softwares available and all, I can’t really understand how people came up with HDR images that are so impactful. Even after trying out the techniques used on YouTube, I still can’t get a decent photo other than a real dull gray-toned image.

Today, we went over to BM to attend a Leadership seminar. During that evening, she pampers me by bringing me out for a nice photo trip. I wouldn’t have love her more. This temple is one of the most beautiful temples in Peninsular Malaysia. The inside is kept to pristine cleanliness, and the marbles are really well crafted.
More importantly I managed to create my 1st HDR….manual HDR. I literally paint the whole image over layer after layer. Process is quite tedious, but the workflow can be summarized as follows:-
1. Take 5~7 shots in 1EV step
2. Put the brightest layer on the bottom, and stack the brighter layers on top depending on their exposure
3. Use Layer Mask and darken all the layers
4. Paint out the exposure of a particular spot as you desire.

Success. Yay~ 10s Choobee. You are really lovely.
